I just realized that title could mislead you into thinking I am preggo. Not so, my friends. The shop is closed. I am referring to adding another color to my master bedroom scheme. I am drawing inspiration from my Mommy Cards, ordered from Etsy...

I ordered these when Haven started Preschool. Mine read "Kodie Timberlake, Mommy of Haven & Maelie". As of today, I have officially handed out 3. Most likely because I am a working Mom and don't drop my kiddo off or pick her up from school. (Sad face.) But I think I will start moving these cards out of my purse as the school year goes on and I get to meet more parents.
But that is neither here nor there. I have been thinking my master will be a little bland. A whole lot of grey and a pop of chartreuse in the bedding, and now the drawer pulls. So I pulled out a Mommy Card and thought for a few moments, then grabbed some turquoise fabric from my stash and tossed it on my duvet. It looks amazing! The contrast gives the room so much energy! I am not yet sure how I am going to pull this off, but I am thinking mainly just accents. Here are some inspiration pics I found around the interwebs...

That first one is my absolute FAV! I would die if I could find a light fixture like that and paint it chartreuse! (What do you think??
Oh, and another fun thing I snagged yesterday. Actually, 2 things. I stopped by ReStore yesterday and found a pallet of light fixtures that had just come in. Everything was priced, except for 2 16 inch ceiling medallions, like this...

I have one that I bought years ago (that I actually removed from the old house and brought with me so I wouldn't have to buy another one!), but haven't been able to decide where to put it. There are a couple of light fixtures that we have replaced so far that need one to cover a difference in ceiling paint. But I haven't purchased any more because they are a little pricey. The one shown above goes for $25 at Lowe's and I know that they can cost WAY more than that! (I just Googled "ceiling medallion" and there were quite a few that were very close to $200! Crazy!!) Well, as I said, the two that I spied were not yet priced. I asked the guy behind the counter how much he wanted and he hesitated a bit. Finally, he said "$20!", just as I said "$1?" Well, he thought for about 30 seconds more then said "OK, $1 a piece it is!" I couldn't believe my luck! So I am thinking about painting one of them red and putting it under my entry way light (also from ReStore!) and maybe one in our bedroom, painted turquoise? We will just have to see! Let this be a lesson though - never be afraid to haggle! Everyone knows that garage sales are a great place to talk 'em down, but I have found that thrift stores and ReStore are really great places to get a good deal. These places are just trying to move enough inventory to keep up with the donations, so most of the time, they will be happy to haggle.
