Changing it up again...

I totally didn't mean to buy a new rug today. It just happened. I innocently went in to TJ Maxx to look for some fun stocking stuffers for Haven and on my way to the girls section, became completely smitten with my new love. I checked the price tag and about fell over. It was totally affordable! After happily paying for it and figuring out how to fit it into Adam's Sentra (because my car still looks like Frankenstein from the deer incident last week), I rushed home to see if it matched my living room as well as I thought it would in my head. And the answer...?? YES! It does! So here is what my living room looked like before...

And how it looks now...with things rearranged to fit the Christmas trees in front of the window...

This rug could not have more perfectly matched the color scheme of my house if I had designed it myself! What a punch of color in my once brown dominated living room! At 5' x 8', it's the perfect size for my furniture placement. It is a 100% wool rug and was priced at $99! I have seen rugs of the same size and quality priced 2 and 3 times higher. And just to prove to you how perfect the colors are, here is a close up...

I should also point out that the jute rug in that pic is gone and has been replaced with another rug I've been storing in the basement. The jute rug was on it's last leg. It was shedding badly and the tassel things on the ends were unraveling really badly. So I finally gave it the boot and put it on my front porch! It makes the front porch feel even more like an extension of the house. And I don't have to constantly vacuum up jute dust. A win-win.
