$5 Chair Makeover!

It's my first post of the year. I have been lazy this week. My in-laws sweetly offered to take the kiddos off our hands so we could have a weekend to ourselves. And it was amazing. We went to see a movie. Like in the theater. (That hasn't happened in 11 months!) And we went to a sports bar and watched a KU game...with no poorly timed potty breaks or numerous pleas for sippy cups to interrupt our attention to the Jayhawks. Heaven. And we hit up the Goodwill in Lawrence. Which shall now be known as my favorite Goodwill. Because I came home with this $5 beauty...

Isn't that fetching?? The fabric seat was really gross, but the chair was in great shape and I knew it would be a great replacement for the current chair that sits at the desk just inside of my entryway...

I love this chair, but it doesn't match the desk at all. Plus I really wanted to recover the seat and move it back into our bedroom. So a quick scan of my fabric stash and a date with the stapler, and now it looks like this...

Adam also cleaned it up with some wood soap. I couldn't believe how gross the wood was! It's a much better fit for the desk. And I really like how the carving in the wood mimics the pattern of the fabric. Doesn't this chair look so much better with the desk?

....

As for the kiddos, they are back and home and I couldn't be happier. My house was much too quiet and orderly while they were gone. :)
