I hadn't been to the West Bottoms sales in a couple of months, so I was really excited to get down there this month. Plus, I was excited to have some company along for the fun: my lovely Aunt Jafawn & Uncle Mike and my fun friend Bree, who I have known since Jr. High, but have only recently reconnected with since moving back to my hometown.
The first shop we hit was a newer one, re:Purpose. It definitely had an artist vibe going on. There were a lot of handmade and (true to the store's name) repurposed items. The first thing that caught my eye was this lovely little pitcher...
Of course, by now you know I have a slight obsession with anything and everything French. I couldn't resist it though at $5.00! Of course, if I would have looked at the bottom of the pitcher before I got home, I would have seen that it was made by Restoration Hardware. A quick check of eBay, however, convinced me that I still had made a pretty good purchase. The average starting bid was $25.00. Even though it isn't an antique - or French - I still love it!
This super cool camper stopped me in my tracks...

It was SO cool. Seriously. How much fun could I have playing with this thing?!? With my kids of course. Or not. :)
After prying my fingers off of the camper, I turned around and saw this lovely thing...

Isn't that great? A television, a record player and a beautiful piece of furniture all wrapped up in one.
On to Liberty Belle next, where this pretty milk glass platter called my name...
I would have definitely brought it home if it had been a cake stand.
And I seriously had a moment when I spied this rotund fellow. I gasped a very loud gasp at the sight of him...

You see, when I was a wee one, my Great Grandmother (everyone called her Granny Mac) made me a stuffed Humpty Dumpty. I was so obsessed, she had to make multiples for me - new "skins" that fit over an oval shaped pillow. I had ones in spring-y calicoes and warm fuzzy fabrics for wintry months. I even took him with me to have my pictures taken. I grabbed Jafawn and she was speechless as well. She even made me get cozy with him for a pic...
I thought I was the only little girl in the world with a Humpty. This big fella wasn't identical to Granny Mac's pattern. Mine were flat with unstuffed arms and legs that I could flip (I didn't suck a thumb, I flipped things. My weirdness started early, I guess). This guy was fully 3-D, with plump limbs. But still...it was quite a moment.
I must have been still floating on a cloud from my Humpty encounter, because I didn't get any pictures in Bella Patina. There were a lot of beautiful finds on display as always.
On to Good Ju Ju we went, where I spied this lovely pillow...

made from feed sack? Or hankies? Not sure what the fabric was originally, but they were quite fetching on the black couch they were resting on. And they totally put me in the mood for Valentine's Day. (And in the mood to finally put away my Christmas decorations!)
Since I didn't have a husband and children traipsing after me, we all decided to wander around the neighborhood and check out some more shops that I hadn't been to before. We followed the bright pink signs to Nook & Cranny. What a fun place! One of the first things I spotted was this interesting record cabinet...

I have never seen a cabinet where the record player is located in a drawer. It was very interesting!
Jafawn, who knows a thing or two about McCoy pottery, couldn't believe this guy was a genuine McCoy...
I had to practice quite a bit of restraint to not bring these home for the girls...
I had a great time as always in the West Bottoms and can't wait to go again!
